Best ways to earn more Qantas frequent flyer points

Updated: Feb 1

Everyone loves to receive Qantas frequent flyer points especially if it does not require you to do anything.

Other than the standard way of earning Qantas frequent flyer points by booking and flying miles on Jetstar or Qantas airlines, there are some more passive ways you can earn Qantas frequent flyer points.

Although they may not net you as much as flying, they can definitely help reach your goals faster.

Credit card churning is by far the fastest way to earn Qantas frequent flyer points

Credit card churning

Credit card churning is by far the fastest and easiest way to earn large amounts of Qantas frequent flyer points quickly.

There is no other way, in which you can earn 100k or more Qantas frequent flyer points a month without jet setting around the country or taking out Qantas private health insurance, which will cost you an arm and a leg.

Even though we have covered how to credit card churn and what you need to get started on this site, it will be your first starting point if you would like to earn Qantas frequent flyer points faster.

Qantas Wellbeing app

Qantas has an app for your mobile phone called Qantas Wellbeing App. It is part of their Qantas health insurance bundle.

With the app, you can earn points for completing daily and weekly step goals, sleep health challenges, cycling and swimming.

There are also quizzes you can take which will net you from 10 points to 200 points per quiz. These include BMI checks, blood pressure quizzes, car tire pressure checks and car brake checks.

There are about 10 or more you can complete at any time.

After the initial 28-day trial, you’ll earn points at a reduced rate if you haven’t purchased a Qantas Insurance product.

This reduced rate is capped at 20,000 points per year. This is pretty good for not having to do anything and it will also cost you nothing. This can be especially useful to prevent your points from expiring!

If you are new, you can sign up and use my referral code MANCIA to earn 150 points when you sign up and log in to the app for the first time.

Shopping with Qantas partners

This method may be one of the easiest ways to rack up Qantas frequent flyer points. You can link your Qantas frequent flyer membership number and shop with any of these very common retailers to earn bonus points for signing up and for each dollar spent.

  • Woolworths: 1 point per dollar spent

  • Hoyts: 1 point per dollar spent and 100 points for signing up

  • Caltex petrol station: 1 point per dollar spent

  • BP Petrol station: Download and install the BP Rewards application to earn up to 2 points per dollar spent with ongoing promotions for bonus points of up to 500 points per promotion. It allows you to purchase with your Qantas frequent flyer points as well.

  • Quandoo: Quandoo is a restaurant booking platform. You can earn 100 Qantas points per reservation when booking a table via Quandoo. You can also earn up to 900 Qantas points for signing up.

Qantas Shopping

You can use Qantas shopping to earn Qantas frequent flyer points for every dollar spent in the Qantas shopping online store.

It works almost like a cashback tracking system but instead of earning cash back, you will earn Qantas points.

The ratios of Qantas points earned per dollar spent are different per Qantas store. For example, I use eBay, which nets me 1 Qantas point per $1 spent.

It's a good way to bolster your Qantas points when online shopping.

To earn Qantas points when online shopping you will need to log on to your Qantas portal and go to Qantas shopping, find the store you want to shop at, and click on the Shop Now button.

Audika hearing test

I'm mentioning this one last as it is a once off way of earning up to 3000 Qantas frequent flyer points depending on the running promotion when you attend your first hearing test.

However, I feel like it deserves it, as it is quite a good amount of points for getting a free hearing test. Audika has many offices around Australia and the booking process is easy. So this one is worth doing for some extra points.

Hopefully, you can implement these simple ways of collecting more Qantas points into your everyday lifestyle and collect points passively.
